Director Louis M. Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston welcomes Taipai Medical University students to study in Houston

(CNA 20170803 09:19:44) Students from the Taipei Medical University College of Nursing, with the assisted by Professor Dengyuan You and Professor Yufeng Hong from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, arrange went to Houston overseas studies every summer.

Director Louis M. Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, in order to express his welcome to the students of Taipei Medical University, specially arranged a dinner party to received the students. During the dinner, Director Louis M. Huang shared what the diplomats had seen and heard with humorous conversations, and further discussed the differences in the medical and health insurance systems in Europe, America and Taiwan. At the same time, he also asked the professors about the development of genetic engineering cause medical regulations and medicine also the possible challenges for ethics.

This year was the tenth time that the College of Nursing has conducted overseas study in Houston. Total of 11 students from the College of Nursing participated. At the same time, Director Hsiang-Ho Chen of the School of Biomedical Engineering led two biomedical engineering students to study in Houston for the first time. The study period of this two groups was from July 24 to August 19. In addition to classroom seminars, they also visited famous local medical centers and hospitals to observe the clinical operation of nursing on the spot.
